Canpack, an international metal packaging manufacturer headquartered in Poland, has announced its complete exit from Russia, according to a company statement. Canpack sold its stakes in its Russian assets to an undisclosed third party. The deal was completed on 10 September, and Canpack received USD 122 million for it, according to the release.

Canpack's statement does not specify whether permission was granted to move the sale proceeds out of Russia, though it can be assumed that such permission was given. "All required governmental and regulatory approvals have been obtained," the statement said.

Can-Pack Packaging Plant LLC and Can-Pack LLC were acquired by Vadim Smagin, owner of the beverage plants Bochkari LLC (Altai Territory) and Bochkari-Ramenskoye LLC (Moscow Region). The assets were registered to a new legal entity, Dom Pak LLC, TASS reported, citing a statement from the new company. Dom Pak was registered in the town of Ramenskoye in late May.

Can-Pack is one of Russia's largest manufacturers of aluminium cans. Its plants belonged to the American corporation Canpack Group, which exercised control through the Polish company Canpack S.A. and the French company Tapon France. In Russia, Can-Pack has two plants producing cans and lids for beverages and other packaging — in Volokolamsk outside Moscow and in Novocherkassk, Rostov Region.

On 31 December 2025, Canpack's Russian enterprises were placed under temporary management by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. On 24 August 2026, those assets were released from that procedure.
