AB InBev Efes in Russia changes business name to "Drinks Together"
Russian brewery AB InBev Efes (AB InBev Efes JSC) has changed its business name to "Drinks Together" and refreshed its logo. "This decision reflects the company's deep integration into the Russian economy and its new market position," the company explained in a press release.
The new business name "reflects the company's current position as a Russian brewing market leader and underlines its transformation into a diversified player in the consumer goods market," InBev Efes said.
99.999% of the shares of AB InBev Efes JSC are owned by the Dutch company AB InBev Efes B.V. (jointly owned by Belgium's Anheuser-Busch InBev and Turkey's Anadolu Efes). In December 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree placing the shares of AB InBev Efes under the interim administration of the Vmeste Group, owned by Nikolai Tyurnikov.
Turkey's Anadolu Efes planned to buy out Belgian AB InBev's stake in their joint Russian business, but in 2024, Russian regulators rejected the deal. AB InBev Efes sells brands such as Stary Melnik iz Bochonka, Klinskoe, Beliy Medved, Efes Pilsener, Velkopopovicky Kozel, and Hoegaarden on the Russian market.
The Russian company also exports its products to countries such as Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Spain, Israel, Kazakhstan, and others. In 2024, AB InBev Efes' revenue grew by 30% to RUB 141.2 billion, while net profit fell by 16% to RUB 14.3 billion.
After AB InBev Efes was placed under interim administration, Anadolu Efes removed its Russian business from the group's consolidated results and now accounts for it as a "financial investment." In its report for first half 2025, Anadolu Efes stated that the net profit of its Russian business in January–June amounted to the equivalent of 2.94 billion Turkish lira, 17% more than in the same period of 2024.
